I was born in California, but grew up in Alabama and was raised a Crimson Tide fan (ROLL TIDE!!!). I have been pulling for the New York Giants since Phil Simms was drafted out of Morehead State University in 1979, and I love the Atlanta Braves. I also root for the Boston Red Sox because my husband is a diehard fan and what better way to say I love you than to support your spouse’s team?! In turn, I converted him into an Alabama fan because any other team simply would not do. But as a fan of the Green Bay Packers, he hates my Giants. And he doesn’t like the Braves because of a heckling incident involving Chipper Jones years back. Oh well, who said love was perfect?

I was a sports writer for 11 years in Indiana, Kentucky and Alabama before moving to Canada in 2004 and getting married the following year. And while I don’t miss deadlines, I do miss walking the sidelines and writing. So I started a blog to feed the need to write again and share what’s on my mind. I’m very much unfiltered, and I like to have some fun with fictional entries from time to time. But most of my entries deal with everyday things or issues that just warrant writing about.

    1. Thanks, Paul! I love stopping by yours, as well, because it continuously reminds me how lucky I was to be able to work alongside a great photographer! 🙂

  1. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and reading my poems. Your comments have touched me a lot. You make a great job on your own blog, that’s just fantastic! Kind regards from France. Amitiés, Frédéric

    1. Frederic, it’s always a joy to read your poetry, so thank YOU for sharing it. And I appreciate your comments, as I hold them in high regard. 🙂

      Cheers from Canada! 🙂

  2. We haven’t got the same taste in sports (unfortunately, as a Mets fan it is my solemn duty to hate the Braves), but I can’t tell you how excited I was when I fell upon your blog! I’m hoping to major in journalism in college and maybe be a part-time sports writer later on, so thanks for being inspiring, I’ll definitely be checking in again soon!

    1. LOL … at least one of us has good taste in our chosen teams (me)! Sorry, had to tease you!

Thank you for your kind words. I’ve never thought of myself as inspiring. You humble me. I’ve been on one of my lazy stretches (I tend to get complacent easily), so I haven’t done much writing of late. So I’ve been doing a lot of reading until the mood to write again strikes.

Whatever you decide to do in your future, I wish you the very best in your endeavors. I had a lot of fun being a journalist, but I do not miss the deadlines … lol. I followed your blog, so I will be happy to look in on yours, as well.

      Cheers! 🙂
